Automaker Mahindra announced plans to introduce five new models during the first half of 2027. They confirmed these launches during the Q2 FY27 media briefing, where Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO of the Auto and Farm Sectors, outlined the upcoming schedule. The lineup includes the first production vehicle on the NU_IQ architecture, a new electric SUV based on the INGLO platform, the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, a substantial revision to an existing model, and a new light commercial vehicle. All five launches are scheduled to occur before the end of June 2027.
Scorpio Lifestyler Details
The Scorpio Lifestyler pickup is the only passenger vehicle among the five whose production identity has been officially confirmed. Mahindra unveiled this model in August and set an April 2027 launch date. Prices will begin below Rs. 19.79 lakh, which is ex-showroom. Officials confirmed the vehicle will be registered as a personal car with a white number plate. The model features an upright front fascia and a separate cargo bed that distinguishes it from the regular Scorpio N. It will be powered by a diesel engine.
The production NU_IQ vehicle is expected to be based on the Vision S concept unveiled in August 2025. Test vehicles resembling this concept have been spotted on Indian roads multiple times. These prototypes exhibit a boxy body shape with short overhangs, flush door handles, and an externally mounted spare wheel. A panoramic sunroof has also been observed on these test cars.
The NU_IQ monocoque architecture supports petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains. Production capacity for these vehicles is set to increase by approximately 8,000 units per month by February or March 2027.
Electric and Commercial Plans
The second new vehicle will utilize the dedicated INGLO electric architecture. The BE 07 is a possible candidate, as prototypes believed to belong to this model have already undergone road testing. Earlier images show a cabin with three dashboard screens and a large central console. The design will likely draw heavily from the concept vehicle. The SUV may offer the 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery options found in existing INGLO vehicles like the BE 6.
EV manufacturing capacity will rise by an additional 4,000 units per month, bringing the total monthly output to 12,000 units. The fifth launch in the lineup is a new light commercial vehicle. Mahindra recently updated the Veero, suggesting a potential successor in this segment. They are also expanding production capacity at their Chakan facility.
Mahindra has acquired the initial parcel of land for its Nagpur manufacturing project and has begun execution work at the site. These investments follow a period where the company reported sales of around 1.83 lakh SUVs during the July to September 2026 quarter.
