Customers can expect deliveries to start in the second quarter of 2027, with the official waitlist opening in December.

The Italian motorcycle manufacturer Italjet is set to launch in India during the India Bike Week event on December 4 and 5, 2026. Motohaus will bring three Dragster variants to the country: the Dragster 300, Dragster 459, and Dragster 700, all of which are being readied for the Indian consumer market.

Customers can expect deliveries to start in the second quarter of 2027, with the official waitlist opening in December. Production of all three models will take place at Motohaus’s manufacturing plant in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, ensuring they are built specifically for the Indian market.

The Dragster 700 sits at the top of the India-bound range, using a 698 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 68 hp at 8,000 rpm and 67 Nm at 5,500 rpm. It features a six-speed gearbox, hydraulically actuated wet multi-plate clutch, and chain final drive. The Dragster 700 has a tubular steel trellis frame, which provides a solid foundation for the bike.

The Dragster 700 is equipped with an adjustable Marzocchi USD front fork and a rear shock absorber with Marzocchi tuning, incorporating Italjet’s ISAS suspension system. Braking is handled by Brembo’s twin 270mm front discs and a 260mm rear disc, ensuring strong stopping capability.

The Dragster 300 takes a different mechanical route, with a 278 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 23.8 hp at 8,250 rpm and 26 Nm at 6,250 rpm. It is paired to a CVT and dry centrifugal automatic clutch. This configuration is designed to provide smooth and efficient power delivery.

The Dragster 459 sits between the Dragster 300 and Dragster 700, with its own drivetrain concept. Its 449 cc liquid-cooled DOHC parallel-twin makes 46.9 hp at 9,500 rpm and 41 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The Dragster 459 offers a unique combination of power and performance.

Attendees at India Bike Week will preview the three Dragster models at EICMA 2026 in Milan before their official Indian release. Motohaus plans to establish specialized Italjet retail centers in key cities such as Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, and Hyderabad, offering sales, servicing, and customer support with trained personnel.

With the introduction of Italjet in India, the country’s two-wheeler market is expected to see a new player in the premium segment. The company is preparing to establish a strong presence in the Indian market, with a focus on providing high-quality products and services to customers. Motohaus is committed to making Italjet a successful brand in India, and they are taking steps to ensure a smooth launch and long-term success.
