Honda raises service prices by 40 percent - honda service
Honda Australia raised fixed-price servicing fees by 40 percent starting October 1, 2026.

Starting this month, Honda Australia has raised its fixed-price servicing fees by 40% for all newly purchased petrol and hybrid vehicles, effective for cars bought from October 1, 2026.

The Super-One electric hatchback retains its previous servicing rates, maintaining $199 per visit for each of its first five scheduled maintenance sessions.

In contrast, every other petrol and hybrid model now carries a $279 fee per service visit, up from the previous $199 charge. This $80 increase means the first five services for models including the Civic, Accord, and CR-V will now total $1395, compared to the former $995 total.

Service Costs Compared to Competitors

Among competing electric vehicles, the BYD Atto 1 requires between $200 and $527 per scheduled service, accumulating $1528 over five years. The Mini Cooper E electric hatchback charges $1202 for four years of maintenance.

Honda Australia’s standard new-car warranty extends for five years with unlimited mileage, though it can be extended to eight years through regular servicing at authorized Honda centers.

Honda’s Customer Focus

Honda Australia stated, “Honda is committed to delivering innovative, high-quality and fun products at a fair price, all underpinned by an ownership experience that provides peace of mind.” The company emphasized its new five-year servicing plan at a fixed $279 rate per visit for the first five services, excluding the Super-One, which remains priced at $199. All models across the range also receive five years of roadside assistance, a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and five years of complimentary Honda Connect, providing peace-of-mind for Honda customers.

Honda’s Australian sales have increased 1.5 per cent year-to-date , following the launch of new models including the born-again Prelude sports coupe and the Super-One, its first EV sold locally. Despite that growth, Honda is on track to sell around 15,000 vehicles this year, which is less than its previous target of around 18,000 annual sales.

The Honda Low Price Service program launched in 2021 when Honda Australia transitioned from traditional dealership franchising to an agency model. Under this system, Honda Australia owns vehicles at dealerships and sets ‘no-haggle’ national drive-away prices for its models, reflecting a focus on lower sales volumes and greater profitability.

According to James Greenwood, Honda Australia’s general manager of ownership experience, “A big part of moving to a new business model was a new approach to the ownership value proposition. It’s not just the price of the car – it’s the whole value offering for our customers.” The company developed its market-leading Honda Low Price Service offering to provide immense ownership value for customers and generate record customer retention.
