Changan plans to launch Nevo brand in Europe and Australia - changan nevo
Changan unveiled three new models from the Nevo division at the Paris Motor Show.

Changan Automobile, which oversees Deepal and Avatr, has announced plans to introduce another of its brands into European markets, with potential expansion into Australia as well. Unveiled during this week’s Paris Motor Show, the manufacturer presented a selection of new vehicles for targeted European dealerships, featuring three fresh models from its Nevo division: the A06 sedan and the Q05 and Q06 SUVs.

Nevo Q05 spearheads European rollout

The Nevo Q05 electric crossover will hit Spanish showrooms first in early 2027, with additional European countries to follow. In markets like Thailand, where vehicles are configured for right-hand driving, the Q05 is equipped with a 120kW/190Nm front-mounted electric motor and a 51.9kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, delivering an official range of 462 kilometers under the NEDC testing protocol. Changan states the Q05 has held the top spot among China’s compact SUV sales for the last half-year. Measuring 4,435mm in length and 1,855mm in width, it exceeds the dimensions of the Hyundai Kona.

Platform and upcoming releases

Also previewed in Paris were the larger Q06 SUV and A06 sedan, signaling Changan’s intent to roll out its mid-size lineup across the region. Both models will offer battery-electric and extended-range hybrid powertrains, with the Q06 uniquely providing dual-motor all-wheel drive in its Chinese market configuration. The A06’s electric variant, powered by a 62kWh battery, achieves up to 620 kilometers of range on the CLTC cycle, while the Q06, with an available 80kWh battery, extends that to 700 kilometers; both use LFP battery technology.

The Nevo A06 and Q06 share Changan’s SDA electrified architecture, which also underpins the Deepal E07 crossover currently sold in Australia, the same vehicle marketed as Nevo in China. Speaking at the Paris Motor Show press event, Changan Europe’s executive deputy general manager, Ethan Yin, outlined the company’s aspirations to establish a European production plant with annual capacity of 180,000 units by late 2028, scaling to 350,000 units by 2030.

Australian prospects

Australia remains under review for a Nevo brand launch following the planned introduction of the Avatr lineup. Unlike Deepal, which enters the market through independent distributor Inchcape, both Avatr and Nevo would be handled directly by Changan’s local operations. The premium Avatr brand will open pre-orders for its 07L electric SUV before December, with deliveries beginning in 2027. Final pricing and specifications are set for announcement between late November and December. Changan expects to release a full update on its broader Australian strategy soon.
