Dongfeng’s Voyah brand is set to expand its presence in Malaysia with the introduction of the Dream 9 MPV, alongside two electric models—the Passion S and Courage—currently under review for the local market. Volt Auto Malaysia, the distributor, confirmed the announcement after Voyah’s initial entry into Malaysia, where the Dream 9 has already been confirmed for release.
The Passion S, which debuted in China last August, comes in three variants priced between 229,900 yuan (RM139,556) and 279,900 yuan (RM169,908). Its compact dimensions, 5,050 mm long, 1,998 mm wide, and 1,656 mm tall, position it as a sportier alternative to rivals like the Xiaomi YU7. The model offers a 300 kW (408 PS) rear-wheel-drive powertrain in its base form, while the top dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant delivers 646 PS and 765 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
Two battery options, 81.6 kWh and 98.1 kWh, provide 630 km and 740 km of range under CLTC testing, translating to roughly 517 km and 607 km under WLTP standards. The 800-volt architecture enables 5C charging, allowing a 20-80% recharge in 10 minutes. Suspension includes a double wishbone front setup and five-link rear, with air springs and adaptive damping on higher trims.
The Passion S also integrates the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 driving assistance system, featuring four lidar units, one 896-line and three solid-state. Inside, the cabin includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch driver display, and a 29-inch augmented reality head-up display. Premium variants add a 27-speaker audio system and a 6.6-liter refrigerator.

In contrast, the Courage adopts a more conventional SUV design, priced from 202,900 yuan (RM123,166) to 242,900 yuan (RM147,447). Its dimensions measure 4,810 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,636 mm tall, with a 2,925 mm wheelbase. The base RWD variant produces 230 kW (313 PS), while the AWD and long-range AWD models include a 175 kW (238 PS) front motor. All versions support 5C charging, with the long-range AWD offering 901 km CLTC range (739 km WLTP).
While the Passion S emphasizes performance and technology, the Courage focuses on practicality, featuring 35 storage compartments, including a 72-liter bin and a seven-liter fridge. It uses the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 system and HarmonySpace 5 infotainment, alongside a 192-line lidar and 29 sensors. Upholstery meets Oeko-Tex skin-friendly standards, with additional features like wireless phone charging and rear tray tables.
Voyah will operate standalone showrooms in Malaysia, separate from Dongfeng’s existing network. Though the Dream 9 is confirmed, the Passion S and Courage remain under consideration. Their potential inclusion would align with Malaysia’s rising demand for electric SUVs, offering a blend of performance and utility, similar to how BYD’s Atto 3 and MG4 have established themselves in the market.
