The 2027 Audi A6 allroad is set to arrive in Australia in the first half of 2027.

The 2027 Audi A6 allroad is returning to Australia with a plug-in hybrid option for the first time. Prices start at $127,900 before on-road costs, just $1,500 more than the previous diesel-only model. This marks the debut of the fifth-generation model in Australia, set to arrive in the first half of 2027.

Audi Australia calls it “the most comprehensively equipped A6 allroad to date,” with $10,000 worth of additional features compared to the last version sold here in 2024.

Two powertrains, premium pricing

The base price is for the new e-hybrid quattro model, which pairs a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with an electric motor and a 25.9kWh battery pack. The TDI quattro diesel option costs $10,000 more, starting at $137,900. The e-hybrid delivers a combined output of 270kW and 500Nm, while the TDI offers 220kW and 580Nm of torque.

Both models come with a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The e-hybrid’s quattro system can decouple the rear axle to save fuel, enhancing efficiency without compromising performance.

Standard features and safety

Standard equipment includes 20-inch wheels (21-inch on the e-hybrid), adaptive air suspension, Matrix LED headlights, a 14.5-inch OLED infotainment display, and a 360-degree camera system. Additionally, the A6 allroad features a 10.9-inch MMI front passenger display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system with 16 speakers.

Safety features include adaptive cruise assist, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and nine airbags. The A6 allroad also has front and rear cross-traffic assist and exit warning systems, ensuring full protection for all occupants.

Optional extras and design

A $9,900 Premium package adds features like digital Matrix LED headlights, a heated steering wheel, and heated rear seats. A $500 Customised contour seats package offers Nappa leather and adjustable bolsters.

The new A6 allroad has a unique widebody design compared to the regular A6 models sold overseas. It measures 5016mm long, 1986mm wide, and up to 1508mm tall.

For those who rely on the versatility of an all-wheel-drive vehicle, the A6 allroad’s adaptive air suspension and offroad driving modes provide a practical advantage. These modes automatically adjust the vehicle’s height, offering 55mm of ride-height adjustment and optimizing shock absorbers for rough terrain. The high-voltage battery in the e-hybrid model provides up to 87km of electric driving range, supporting AC charging at up to 11kW.

The rear-wheel steering system turns the rear wheels by up to 5.0 degrees in the opposite direction to the front wheels at speeds up to 60km/h. Above this speed, it adds up to 2.0 degrees of steering in the same direction as the front wheels, enhancing stability and agility.

The 3.0-litre TDI engine in the diesel model incorporates Audi‘s 48V mild-hybrid ‘plus’ technology, which reduces turbo lag with an electrically powered compressor and enables electric-only driving at very low speeds. This system not only improves efficiency but also enhances the driving experience by providing smoother power delivery.
